Joann Rosario Album Release Party
Melanie’s very first look is behind the scenes with Joann Rosario as she readies herself for her album launch party. We not only take you to the anointed festivities, but we tell you who her makeup artist is and where she bought the outfit she’s wearing. Let’s go take a look at the most up close and personal coverage for the Now More Than Ever... Worship Album Release Party. It’s The Good Life! We first received the elegant invitation well actually Joann and Eric Rideout, her stage manager, asked months before via email, letting us know of the White Affair and album launch party for the sophomore project of Verity princess Joann Rosario. Of course we put it on our calendar, as it was surely an event not to be missed. Verity marketing whiz Damon Williams had been crazy busy handling separate photo shoots for Pastor Marvin Sapp and The Singletons (for their upcoming sophomore album) and we almost missed the opportunity, but we pulled it together at the last minute and the weekend fun began.
First, I had to find something white to wear. My Communion Sunday outfit might not have made the cut, but I managed to dig something out of the closet and head to Chicago. I arrived early at the lovely InterContinental Hotel. Verity had arranged for a beautiful room for me. My room was ready and I just happened to be staying on the floor wear the Moroccan-tiled pool room was located. The staff was helpful in quickly getting me checked in even though it was way before check-in time. I dropped my bag off and got ready to spend the day on Michigan Ave. shopping. No sooner than I stepped out on the curb, did a car pull up *literally* with two seemingly crazy guys yelling out the window. I turned to find no average hecklers, but Verity Record executives Jeffrey Grant-Clark and Clyde Duffy. They were on their way to check into the Intercontinental as well. Following their check-in, I joined Jeff and Clyde for breakfast where they let me in on the latest happenings at Verity, and then we were of to scope the Magnificent Mile in search of a digital camera card and white shoes!!! We did a little bit of shopping damage truth is the guys did more damage than me and then headed back to the hotel. I had to be at the venue early, so Damon picked me up to head over to Maranatha Worship Center where the illustrious event was to take place. We were met at the door by Joann’s sister in law Cynthia Rosario who helped coordinate the event. Everyone in the building even though it was several hours before start time was already bedecked in white. We walked in on Joann who was upstairs getting ready. While she was in preparation her guests were treated to a delectable dessert table. And each guest was given a white bracelet with Now More Than Ever... Worship on it. Let the glam begin! Joann entered the sanctuary to cheers and applause. A slideshow with pictures of a young Rosario, from baby to adolescence to adulthood was shown to give us the inside view. A full program went forward which included twin sensations Michelle and Christina in complete Harmony, to the incredible solo worship power of Tramaine Harris. Harris began with his rendition of "More Than Anything" and was so pure and powerful that Joann insisted he come back up and give us more. He effectively set the atmosphere and finished with a medley of "That’s Love" and "What It Really Means To Love".
He was followed by the hip-hop flow of Holy Culture, and then there was a special request for the ministry of Shea Norman who was in the house to support. Group One kicked into high energy and then The Singletons, who were also in the house, rendered a worship medley. Joann then took the stage and shared some of the highlights of her project. Thanking her Maranatha family for being supportive and believing God with her for healing during her battle with a vocal injury, she ministered songs of thanksgiving to God. Weighted with emotion we all barely made it through "With All My Heart" and "I Hear You Say", both ballad singles from the project. Things were a little lighter and festive with subsequent selections. A full crew of background singers and dancers filled out the set nicely and the celebration began and ended with a bang! Surrounded by family and friends, old and new, Joann Rosario is ready, now more than ever. Email This To A Friend
