Lifted Up
It is always our desire share the ministry
behind the music and to support to those who have been chosen to minister to us through music. To that end, we present this regular column titled Lifted Up, where we invite you to join us in prayer for a particular minister of the Gospel.
Periodically, as we are led by the Holy Spirit, we will present to you an artist that you may wish to pray for. We encourage you to add these people, their families and their ministries to your prayer list for the week, and if you are so led, to share on the message board how their ministry has impacted on your life.
We're living in a time where artists are turning from the secular industry and using their gifts and talents to glorify the Giver of those gifts and talents in the Gospel marketplace.
Artists recently making the switch include Kelly Price, Dave Hollister, Chanté Moore, Kenny Lattimore, Patti Labelle and Coko.
These influential voices have gone from singing about the world's values to singing God's praise, telling of His love, and how He relates to real life issues. Without deviating from their musical style, they've nevertheless changed their message and now have an opportunity to expose their fan-base to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
We pray that God will shield them from the discouragement that the enemy can bring. Satan believes that music is his tool to influence the world, so having these artists exalting Christ is a blow to his program. Things can be different in the Gospel arena and if initial sales aren't as big as some have grown accustomed to, there may be pressure directed at them to turn back. The fact that our past didn't overtake us is proof that SOMEBODY was praying on our behalf.
Let's be that somebody for these brothers and sisters. Remember Galatians 6:2: “Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ."
