Chiquita Lumzy

Chequita Lumzy Wiggins, lead singer of the female gospel quartet The Lumzy Sisters, passed on October 24, 2009 at age 50. The popular group made numerous appearances on gospel shows such as Singsation and Bobby Jones Gospel. Most notably, the quartet was named "Female Quartet of the Year" at the American Gospel Quartet Convention for eight consecutive years. Likewise, Wiggins was named "Female Vocalist of the Year" by the convention during those same eight years. The group released six albums, with their latest project Precious being released in 1995. Wiggins was co-pastor of Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church in Suffolk, VA.
