Tommy Ellison

Tommy Ellison of the Tommy Ellison & The Singing Stars passed away on Saturday January 3, 2009, after an illness. Born in Salley, SC, Ellison began by singing background for Madame Edna Gallmon Cooke's, as a part of her group, The Five Singing Stars. In 1959, Ellison formed his own group, The Five Singing Stars, later renamed to Tommy Ellison and the Five Singing Stars, gaining national reputation in the early 1970s on the Nashboro label, and moving to HOB and AIR Gospel later. He continued singing and ministering until recently.
