I Can Do Anything Flint Michigan native Antwaun Stanley delivers the goods on I Can Do Anything, his breakout debut on Bajada Records. The teenage music major sophomore (Univ. of Michigan) hangs out with the industry’s big boys, and serves up perhaps one of the one of the most unexpected gems of the year. PAJAM, Noel Hall, Marcus Cole and Percy Bady join to produce the album, which is nice mix of jams and ballads, all highlighting the fine tenor vocals of Stanley. He quickly establishes himself on the project, first with a set of three infectious urban cuts produced by PAJAM ("Reason, "You Are The Source", "Teach Me"), and then a detour toward nuanced balladry on "I Believe", produced by Percy Bady.On "By Your Side", the singer pairs with an uncredited female vocalist to deliver a soaring duet that shows his ability to work beyond a solo setup. Then Stanley soulfully covers the popular praise chorus "Only Imagine", with an added twist here and there to mix things up a little. Noel Hall produces. Marcus Cole produces "Back Then", a distinctively arranged piece that extols the unchanging nature of God by comparing His works back in the days of His earthly life, and fast-forwarding things to today. Stanley nicely textures his tenor pipes to fit the song's story-based structure. I Can Do Anything is a strong debut for a talented newcomer. Antwaun Stanley is one to watch.
