DJ Morph
International

There are so many mixtapes being dropped, whether in the secular or spiritual market, that they are nearly impossible to keep up with. But here's one that just can't be ignored.

DJ Morph releases a new mixtape that is truly representative of the multi-faceted Christian Hip Hop genre. I wouldn't be surprised if those who are only bangin' secular Hip Hop will be drawn in with one good listen. Producers include Tony Stone and 19-year old sensation, G Styles.

CD The problem with some mixtapes is there can be a few good songs amidst others that really should not have been included. No such problem here, though.

Eddie Nigma blazes with a nice intro while Sho Baracka (of 116 Click) delivers a praise and worship banger, "Glorious". Baracka paints a vivid picture of Christ sacrifice and why He should be praised; this is refreshing in itself. "Where You From, Pt 2" featuring Braille, Mahogany Jones (who KILLS her verse), the workhorse, K Drama, Jovan Mackenzy and Oppose showcase the power of unity in representing different areas of the country.

Everyone who knows music and who has been keeping up with the scene knows that the faster-paced songs are the rage, with Autotone being used for their hooks. Morph includes this style, but still keeps the grit in the mix with the Hip Hop track inclusions.

Having traveled the globe with KJ Five Two and Funky, it's only fitting that Morph would name the album International. The title track is a hot dance cut (about going to the ends of the earth to minister) featuring G-Notes, Applejaxx, K-Nuff and super lyricist, Sharp Skills. Each emcee does their thing with Sharp Skills serving as the song's anchor, ripping his verse to shreds. Another song in the same vein is the radio-friendly, "So Worthy" featuring R-Swift and Psalmist.

On the Dirty South tip, and straight out of Florida, Rhema Soul featuring G-Styles give your speakers a workout on "Let the Record Drop" while Houston's Big Nate challenges the thugs to really examine their lives on "Who Gangsta". These two songs alone could make this mixtape worth buying, but there is more to enjoy.

"Let Go", featuring newcomers, Break Bread (also out of Jacksonville) gives some insight of what their life was like without Christ.

Morph has what he calls his "go to" guys —the emcees he calls on more than once on this tape. Applejaxx and Sharp Skills appear again on "Feelin That" also featuring Exilian. Get ready to snap and lean on "Loose Wit It" starring Big Nate and K-Drama with Khul Rhema making a guest appearance.

International is a complete mixtape and a release that everyone should get. Look no further, this one is for you.
