Group 1 Crew
Ordinary Dreamers

Group 1 Crew garnered a great deal of buzz and success with their debut release (read review) and an extensive touring schedule.

With Ordinary Dreamers, the sangin' trio of Blanca, Manwell and Pablo are back, not veering to far from the successful formula of their first album. With a message nicely wrapped in music on par with today's generation, the production team of Andy Anderson and Chris Stevens deliver again for this crew.

CD"iContact" is a cleverly written song about seeking the face of God, set to a hot dance/electronic groove, with programming from Josiah Bell. "Movin" is a track that does just that to the listener as it heats up the atmosphere.

You won't find any slow ballads on the project, but there are several jams that might just work their way into CCM radio playlists. "Our Time" is a pop-tinged, midtempo ditty which speaks to the beauty of spending quality time with God. Blanca of course shines on this one, and the fellas are a smooth compliment to her vocals. Praise and worship is the theme of "Closer", set to a pop/rock beat.

Fans of 70's and 80's era soul will enjoy the fiesta on "Bring the Party to Life", featuring Byron Chambers (read review of his previous solo project) on drums and talkbox. "Critical Emergency" is a socially-conscious jam that sheds some light on issues plaguing people around the world. Check out the horns and the vocals of the entire crew and you won't be faulted for thinking this is a jam straight out of a Kool and the Gang or Earth, Wind and Fire songbook.

Lead single "Keys to the Kingdom" is a beautifully-written gem with a hip hop vibe that features Manwell and Pablo up front.

On the first album, Group 1 Crew brought "I Have A Dream"; now they drop the followup, "I Had A Dream" and it is a definite banger.

Group 1 Crew has outdone themselves on Ordinary Dreamers, with Anderson and Stevens' flawless production paving the way. Perfect for a broad cross-section of audiences, this is a project that should easily find its way to many ears, sharing the gospel in the process.
