Isaac Simpson & DP
Right Now

Columbus, Ohio's latest contribution to the Gospel music scene is Isaac Simpson and Divine Providence. While the aggregation's 15-track offering, titled Right Now, is their debut effort, it represents the culmination of a 9-year journey. The three-time GMA winners have amassed an offering that will bring a smile to the face of music purists and joy to the hearts of all believers.

CDSimpson, who serves as the choir's director and lead vocalist, handles the lion's share of the writing on this effort, penning or arranging 13 of the album's 15 tracks.

Simpson and DP can rock the party with the best of them. "Great Is Your Mercy", "He Changed Me", and "Lift the Savior Up" are definitive up-tempo jams that will keep you singing and will keep your head nodding long after the disc has stopped spinning. These are can't miss cuts.

In addition, Simpson enlists the assistance of several significant vocalists to take the effort to the next level. Uber-talented vocalist Nikki Ross lays down another memorable effort on the powerful "He Loves Me". Thompson Community Singers' alumnus Leanne Faine takes it to Sunday morning on the upbeat arrangement of the hymn "Search Me Lord".

Simpson and DP are equally comfortable in the ballad arena. With a mission to encourage, the group tugs at the heartstrings with touching tracks such as "Come As You Are" and "Never Give Up". Long time Witness lead vocalist Lisa Page-Brooks lends her unmistakable vocals on the encouraging and powerful "You Can Make It", which is a gem.

The genuine diversity of Simpson and DP's musical presentation is refreshing. From the jazzy "Love" to the multi-faceted and eclectic title cut, Simpson and DP are a well-rounded organization ready to make their imprint on the genre.

After nearly a decade of waiting, Simpson and DP's time happens to be Right Now.
