Joann Rosario

Joann Rosario
Joyous Salvation

CDWith her wide range and eclectic influences, Joann Rosario is back with her third project, Joyous Salvation.

Coming off of a season fraught with vocal challenges, including the temporary loss of her voice, Rosario joins with producers Aaron Lindsey, Fred Jerkins and Chris Rodriguez to triumphantly deliver a 10-song set that she uses to declare her testimony and her faith. The vibe is a meld of urban and pop, with ballads and her Latin inflection in the mix.

On “Glory To You”, a busy, beat-driven track from Jerkins is featured. Rosario fronts the cut with segmented and energetic phrasing. “Holy God”, with Rodriguez helming the board, is also infectious, its lyrical motif smoothly integrated into a memorable melodic mix of guitar and keyboard.

The title cut, “Joyous Salvation”, is a contemporary festival of praise, with its orchestral overtones and gospel message emphasized by the call and response between Rosario and her backing singers. “Traces” is a commentary on those challenging times when we rejoice in seeing evidence of God’s presence, even if they be only traces.

Rosario pens “More Than Anything” together with Antonio Neal, a smooth urban ballad of praise and prayer. The vibrant “Come On Everybody (Vamos Todos Juntos)” deftly combines with worship with celebratory grooves, making for an album highlight.

Joyous Salvation from Joann Rosario is a glorious expression of praise that should appeal to everyone.
