Sometimes billed as the "Teddy Pendergrass" of gospel, newcomer Kerry Norton delivers a new and smooth sound in Gospel with The Promises Will Come To Pass, combining vocals with saxophone.

Born in Houston and now residing in Charlotte, NC, Norton, who also produces and writes, assembles ten songs, from originals to covers.

Beginning with "Lord I Lift Your Name on High", with its blend of saxophone and vocal motifs from the background singers, to the original "Favorite Child of God", highlighted by Norton's warm tenor vocals, the vibe is uplifting.

Norton puts his spin on "I Surrender All", and then imparts his own words of praise on "Thank You Lord" to a Huff and Gamble melody.

On the standout "My Everything", vocals take center stage, helped along by sax stylings and a gently distorted guitar accompaniment.

Definitely a keeper, Kerry Norton's quiet storm artistry simply must be heard.
