Mietta Stancil-Farrar and Tehillah
W-W-Worthy!!!

The rich Gospel sound of swirling organ, industrious rhythms and vivid choir textures hits the ear from the very first track of this live project W-W-Worthy!!! from Mietta Stancil-Farrar and Tehillah.

CDStancil-Farrar is the neice of the great NY power singer Lorraine Stancil, and the singing genes have most certainly been transferred. Vocally fronting most songs, her rich alto pipes strengthen the entire project, propelling the songs with her sheer force of spirit.

Cuts such as the re-arranged “God Is Real” , Eric McDaniel’s energetic “Worthy” and the organ-paved praise tune “Wonderful Jesus” are strong points, as Stancil-Farrar and the 17-voice Tehillah linger on the musical ministry.

A stacked team of organists and keyboard masters combine for extra oomph. Terence Kitchens, Benjamin Love and Patrick Brown work their fingerwork artistry, marking “Oh Magnify Him” with simmering near-funk chording and East coast dissonances.

Slower choir rides take prominence towards the end of the 13-track album. “Highest Praise” from Brown and “He Shall Hide Thee” written by Stancil-Farrar stake out the praise ground here.

Great gospel and solid showings from all involved, make this a can’t miss album. Worthy indeed.

....Oh, wait. Bonus hidden tracks include one minute snippets from other projects on the Anointed Sounds label, including a smoothed out jazz number featuring Lorraine Stancil with something perhaps titled “Walk With Me”, and a churchy cut from the Bible Way Choir.
