Out Of Eden
Love, Peace & Happiness

Nearly ten years after releasing their debut project to the world, Out of Eden is back with their fifth album, Love, Peace, & Happiness.

CDThe sisterly trio (Andrea Kimmey Baca, Lisa Kimmey and Danielle Kimmey) bring their exuberance, energy and bright harmonies to the project, combining them with thought-provoking lyrics that address a number of heartfelt issues.

With a decade of experience under their belt, the group has grown and matured both in the studio and in everyday life. These experiences and their maturity shines through on this latest Gotee effort, along with increased musical development and their trademark willingness to try new things.

Check out the leadoff cut, which sees the trio really embrace the urban side of things as they come hard on the track "Make Way". This bouncy track has that heavy Dirty South street vibe and sees the sisters Kimmey teaming with Holy South's Mr. Del, delivering an infectious track that shows them to be bold and unapologetic. Definitely a favorite.

Out of EdenOut Of Eden continues to trade in the heavy urban vibe with the reflective "Could've Been Me", reminding us of how it's only God's mercy that separates us from poverty, disease and misfortune. Then "Drama Free", an uptempo party track, has the ladies addressing the need to live life free of drama and issues. This could easily become an urban anthem as so many will identify.

With that said, Out of Eden spend a good deal of time addressing real life issues and ministering to the total man. The trio takes the message to the streets with "I Know", which gets the vote for the newest ghetto hymn. This street ballad has Victor Oquendo laying down a street-savvy track that serves as the perfect backdrop as OOE
Interview with Danielle Kimmey
(2002)
Danielle Kimmey "When we're not on the road or not doing Out of Eden stuff, we are in church all the time," says Danielle Kimmey. "Mostly because we just love church. We love praising God with a lot of people. We love to be preached to.....

address those living the ever tricky street life. Rather than condeming this lifestyle, the ladies empathize with the daily happenings and deftly offer Christ as the solution.

Perhaps this song, more than any other, embodies the growth and development that Out of Eden has undergone. They successfully and effortlessly launch out and embrace different styles and are successful in keeping their sound relevant with current conditions.

"Just the Way" is an infectious cut, and speaks of a woman letting her man know that she's changed her lifestyle and is now living for Christ. This is pure tightness, with Mooki Taylor laying down a vicious track. Lisa Kimmey's lead vocals are reminiscent of Kelis and take you to a totally different place. It's simply amazing.

Perhaps even more amazing is that Lisa Kimmey co-wrote and co-produced all of the songs on the project.

The party keeps going with "Soldiers". This uptempo dance track could quickly become a club favorite, with its heavy club feel to it. Commissioning all soldiers to step out and prepare to go to battle, it reminds all to resist the temptation to hide, but to rather represent Christ in all we do.

Out Of EdenNow, any true Out of Eden fan knows that the trio couldn't leave a project ballad-free, and they certainly don't disappoint on this one. "Sincerely" is a love song to Christ, in appreciation and recognition of the amazing sacrifice that He made to redeem mankind. The song is beautiful, urban and touching.

This is easily Out of Eden's most urban album to date. It is also easily their best work to date, with all of the songs on this 12-track project being bonafide hits.

The trio are definitely mainstays in the game, and this latest effort is bound to bring many folks lots of Love, Peace & Happiness.
