Revolution Music: Vol 3 "Ones That Made It" is a smoothed out cut where the emcee cleverly expresses gratitude for making it through hard times, while expressing the ills of the hood. Skills shows swagger in his rhymes in "Get it Poppin", a dirty south-styled head bobber courtesy Selah Dru.Many lyricists like to rap over those East Coast-flavored beats; Sharp Skills does this on "Dark Side of the Light", and it deserves many spins. He addresses the struggles of living for Christ. Praise is expressed on "Awesome God 07", which samples a line from the Rich Mullins classic. Sharp Skills also advises others to praise Him and rely on Him while he spits of how he loves spending time in God's word. Obviously Sharp Skills has a love for the music of yesterday. On "Maturity" he raps over a 70's styled slow jam. The throwbacks continue with a sample from the 70's on "Slaves Mentality" featuring Kaligraphy and Shay. This song is a hard look at the mentality that is hurting the black community. He does not sugar coat.Rapid-fire delivery is up front and centre on the thought-provoking, "Fate Destiny", while he tackles a taboo issue on "Date From Hell". Revolution Music: Vol 3 is a nice offering. Sharp Skills is a lyricist making waves in the underground and has the ability to gain mass appeal. With a heart to reach the lost, this artist won't crossover without the cross.
