The Campaign "Real Rebel" will strike up a bit of nostalgia as Winona Drive serves up a beat reminiscent of Naughty By Nature's "Hip Hop Hooray" while Sharp throws in the catchy "Hey! Hooo!" also from that same classic.Guitars and the mid tempo "boom bip" are the backdrop of "Mountain Movement". Sharp speaks to the obstacles and barriers in his way that they will move, with Christ at his side. Frequent collaborator, Soul P, guests on "Disciple's Burden", a chilled out cut about the cost of following Christ. Both emcees kill their verses as Steven Wayne sings the chorus. Sharp dedicates "Me and You" to his new wife, daring to sing on the cut. It may not be his best skill, but the love he expresses for his wife is heartfelt. A couple of songs have that club feel that doesn't stray too far from the Hip Hop vibe. "Bounce With Me" has an infectious beat with a cool synth/guitar sample and the upbeat "Ice Pick Spit" showcases Sharp rapping with an aggressive yet potent flow, as he lets his everyone know that he is using his flow to prompt the hardest of sinners to come to repentance. The "R's UP" remix is one for the Hip Hop heads. The beat here is the driving force with different samples and nice verses from Sharp, Rubio and Shay (who tears her verse up). On "Something to Say", Sharp tells the people that he wants his music on secular radio, and that he has life to bring. The Middle Eastern samples are icing on the cake. Don't think that The Campaign is your average rap album, a la Souljah Boi or Lil' Bootsie. It's not. Sharp Skills gives a lot to chew on and nod your head to.
