Shawn McLemore
Sunday Morning: The Live Experience

Miss the good ole days of choir music, with a dominating B3 organ? Tired of "live" albums that are so overdubbed that it's basically studio? This is for you then.

Shawn McLemore steps in to bring a scaled down "sho nuff" church with Sunday Morning: The Live Experience. He gets help from Kelly Price, Alavaneeta Nelson, wife Rhonda McLemore and many other Houston-based singers.

CD Actor Tommy Ford (of Martin fame), gives a rousing introduction and then Shawn Mac jumps right into the swinging "Sunday Morning". The song pays homage to the beauty of times past and is a reminisce McLemore's upbringing. "I've Got Jesus", led by Pastor J. Carrington, will please those who love traditional Gospel music and who do not mind giving the church mothers something to enjoy.

Get ready to have a hand-clapping and foot-stomping good time with "He Got Up". McLemore does his thing while letting the choir shine; so go ahead and shout. "Your Grace and Mercy" features his wife, Rhonda McLemore, her powerful alto vocals cementing the piece.

The "It Is Well Medley" is highlighted first by the organ mastery of 23-year-old Chris Edwards. Then Kelly Price comes in to "SANG" a piece of "Oh How I Love Jesus" while Alvaneeta Nelson comes in and belts out "My Soul Loves Jesus". You can't help but hear a little of her famous mother, Bettye Ransom Nelson, in her presentation. The two ladies then come in and trade ad libs with abandon.

"To You" satisfies the worshipper. Madeline Deleon joins Shawn Mac and sings in English and Spanish so beautifully that one only hopes that she will be able to go around the world to minister with her gift.

Earl Duncan brings his smooth voice to the lovely "Peace", another gem and quite a contrast to this mostly traditional album.

Also notable is the "Throwback Medley", and in it the old devotional hymn, "I Love the Lord, He Heard My Cry".

With Sunday Morning: The Live Experience, Shawn McLemore brings things full circle, embracing his roots and satisfying all who love traveling down memory lane.
