![]() This Is The Day Produced entirely by husband, Madukwu Chinwah (Erykah Badu, N'Dambi), the project tackles different styles such as R&P, urban, traditional Gospel and inspirational to communicate her message. Choice cuts are plentiful. "The Price" has that soulful R&P feel laced with a mid-tempo urban beat. Chinwah's smooth tone percolates throughout as she sings of Christ's love. On "This is The Day", she succeeds in bringing out the feel of this joyful and upbeat praise song. Get ready to have fun with it. Chinwah takes us back to the days of church musical with the solo, "It Took Someone". Backed only by organ, she sings of Christ being the only one able to give her life. Then on "Hold On", she brings a bluesy, neo soul feel to the proceedings, making it a highlight of the album. "Call Him" has a beat and a synth-filled groove that is so infectious you might need to take precautions. Producer Modukwa Chinwah outdoes himself here. “Why I Serve Him" is another urban jam that will shake up any dance floor. All of these songs talk about the amazing love of God. On the ballad "Holy", elements of the old hymn, "Holy Holy, Holy" are incorporated, with background vocals laid down very nicely. "Savior" has that easy listening, chill vibe. This Is The Day is a solid debut for Dallas resident, Tracii Chinwah, proving once again that there is something in the water in Texas.
