Toot Toot!
April 1, 2005

Welcome to Hip-Hop as I see it...finally!

It’s been a minute since I last wrote ya’ll and it’s not because I’ve decided to get an extra 8 hours of sleep during the day. I’ve been busy… to say the least. Before we resume our normally scheduled piece, let me catch you up.

My new album Die Another Day dropped on the 29th of March and it’s been a hectic 3 months and will continue to be a hectic year. The album release was on the 26th of March (2005), and though it was off the chain, it was crazy work.

Some of the special guests at the party included DNA, Mona J, Ason and my pops, Alvin Slaughter. My man Marko Polo showed up from NYC (producer of the track "Pop Off") and many others. We started off the party by showcasing our new video for the song "Die Daily" which will be on our site soon (give me time!). The drum line came through and played into the intro of the first song "Die Daily". From then on, it was poppin’. We had dancers smashing the floor (The Hot steppers) and my DJ, DJ E-class burning the turntables. The sound, lighting, and atmosphere was incredible. It was fun, free and powerful. There was an altar call and 1 person got saved.

Close to 200 people showed up for the new album celebration and I thank everyone who showed up. The album has gotten great reviews and we are expecting huge things this year from Die Another Day. I don’t mean to toot my own horn, but I just wanted to let you know whatz good.

And the work has just began. Beside traveling for concerts, managing our youth group (yeah, I’m a youth pastor), handling the label (Slaughter Music), running the Dungeon Studios, and keeping up with my 2 year old daughter (Lyric), it’s grind time. I’ll be hittin’ the GMA, Bobby Jones Retreat, The Holy Hip Hop conference in Cali, and many others.

So if you happen to bump into me at a show, conference, or on the street, just hand me a $1.50 for a cup of coffee and a breath mint... I’ll probably need.

P.S. The new album Die Another Day is now available at my site, www.slaughtermusic.com
