Tri-hosted by the engaging trio of Vickie Winans, Donnie McClurkin and Dr. Bobby Jones,
the 15th Annual Stellar Awards were awarded in Atlanta on January 8th, 2000. Marking the
first time that the televised ceremony was hosted exclusively by Gospel's own,
the presentation featured Civic Center-rattling performances by Kim Burrell, The Mississippi Mass Choir, New Direction,
Lamar Campbell & Spirit of Praise, Richard Smallwood, Kirk Whalum, Nancey Jackson, Gospel Gangstaz, Yolanda
Adams, 5 Young Men and The Mighty Clouds of
Joy.
Big winners were Kirk Franklin with 8, Richard Smallwood
with 3, Vickie Winans with 3, Donnie McClurkin and Men of Standard,
each with 2 Stellar Awards.
