New music from Barrow Music Group!

Ernest Lee & Spirit of David
New Psalms

Returning to the scene is Ernest J. Lee & The Spirit of David, with their vocals-based urban vibe.

The Detroit group's sophomore album, New Psalms, takes their praise proclamations to that next level, beginning with "Victory", featuring Duan Gardner out front. Lee joins in with his own CDvocals over a mid-tempo urbanized track. Mid-song rap imparts a mild hip hop flava to the song, which lets the group tell of their joy in the victory of Jesus Christ.

As on his debut project from 1998, Lee continues to show himself to be a songsmith, with tunes such as "Help Is On The Way". Anita Newby is given mic responsibilities on the cut, with chorus woven underneath. The song is then remixed by Rob Skinner ("R & S Hip Hop mix"), with the rework also letting Shan Lee drop his rap.

Switching to a jazzed groove with a hefty keyboard, funky vibe, Spirit of David revels in "Continuous Prazye", distinguished by some nice work on the bass by Skinner.

"Turn It Around" puts forth God's promise and features turns from each of the ensemble's four female vocalists (Nakeila Killing, Leah Hubbard, Anita Newby, Andria Garrett) as the song modulates to completion.

Switching gears completely, the choir shows themselves more than able to dig into praise and worship on “Holy Lamb Of God”, penned by Lee with extra arrangements by Louis Williams.

Indeed, if you're looking for New Psalms for your contemporary hymnbook, look no further than this latest offering from Ernest Lee & The Spirit of David.
