The Ferrebee Sisters
Here Am I
Every now and again, a group turns your head with an unexpected gem of a project.
Coming out of Philadelphia, The Ferebee Sisters hit the scene with an unmistakable jewel titled Here Am I, a five-track EP that introduces the world to this sisterly quartet. Vocally resembling The Clark Sisters, they are bound to set your ear and your heart on fire.
The sisters Twannetta, Tameka, Toshia and Treena kick their debut off with the title track, the first half of which is peformed acappella, and highlights their stellar harmonies. Penned by Tameka Ferebee-Lewis, with air-tight harmonies, the cut is in some ways reminiscent of Adoration-n-Prayze from days gone by. Then, midway through the cut, musical accompaniment enters and the sisters movingly express their willingness to offer their services to God, and to wait for His move.
In addition to dropping sweet ballads, these sisters can jam with the best of them. "I Know He's On My Side" is an uptempo groove that tells of Christ's ever-present help, no matter what we deal with. "He's God" is a mid-tempo jam that has plenty bounce to the ounce. This track gets you moving and keeps the focus on these sisters’ amzing vocal skills, as the lyrics bring God's sovereignty to the forefront.
The full-length songs continue with "Church'n", an arrangement of old-school, Sunday morning church songs that will get you hyped for morning service. Rounding out the EP is a reprise of the title track.
There's no doubt that these sisters represent the city of Brotherly Love with all the flava that makes them the next big thing in the industry. People will be talking about this one for quite sometime.
