With This Ring — Forever I Do

Ballads abound on Harborwood’s second wedding-themed release With This Ring —Forever I Do.

The fun in these thematically driven projects is that executive producer Paul Wright III gets to pull from an open pool of talent to assemble colorful and meaningful singles that we can all enjoy.

CD With This Ring features songs from many of Gospel’s favorites as well as five background tracks of the original compositions to be used in wedding ceremonies or for occasions of your choosing.

Tracks of the famous "Wedding March Processional" and "Recessional" are even included, perhaps in an effort to remove at least one ‘to do’ item from that seemingly endless task list of things to accomplish before the big day.

“The One He Kept For Me” is a fragile ballad done by Maurette Brown-Clark, written by Teresa Jones and saxman Donald Hayes.

Howard Hewett renders his familiar vocals on “Lost In You”, penned by Gordon Kennedy, Wayne Kirkpatrick and Tommy Sims. Acoustic guitar by David Cleveland lightly and beautifully ornaments.

With This Ring Vol. 1
CD With the exception of two instrumental redos of Stevie Wonder classics from Ben Tankard ("Ribbon In The Sky") and Donald Hayes ("You And I"), the music is original and heard here for the first time on disc.

The first album of the With This Ring Series featured Tonéx, Commissioned and many others.

Daryl Coley interprets Duawne Starling’s “Finally”, which is tastefully limited to Coley’s voice and piano by Roger Ryan. Starling himself steps out to lead on “Everything”, which he also wrote.

Newcomer duo Kloud 9 hits the only mid-tempo cut on “Can’t Stop Think About You”, scripted by Mitchell Jones and Parkes Stewart of Commissioned fame, and brings in Stewart for backing vocals.

More Commissioned personnel appear when Marcus Cole sings the self-penned “Come and Take my Hand”. The sole duet in the mix is “You’re The One for Me” with Lisa Shipman and Hallerin Hill. Exceptional vocals trademark Chris Willis’ performance on “Still In Love With You”, which again features acoustic guitar from Cleveland.

Image impressed with their debut single “If Loving You Is Wrong” on Harborwood’s Songs For the Soul project (see review). The four brothers follow that up here with stack of classic harmonies on “Forever I Do”, the album’s title track.

This is simply another soon-to-be-wed and newlywed goldmine.
