![]() ![]() Jackie Peters Live ![]() The opening cut is familiar to all, a 12-minute cover of the Kurt Carr composition, “The Presence of The Lord”. Peters renders the song in her own style, setting the stage for “I’m Free”, a jazzy number that she penned herself. By this point in the album, it is clear that this artist’s love for praise and worship carries the day. On “Who Am I”, Peters asks God the question that all believers ask, questioning what it is about us that causes Him to love us. That eternal mystery propels the heart of the worshipper, and drives this song’s quiet intensity. Other inclusions (“You Are Greater”, “I Am Here”), all written by Peters, are notable in their originality. On “Beauty For Ashes”, Peters uses the Morris Chapman hit to return the theme of God’s overwhelming provision for us. The accompanying DVD, with its visual enhancement of the audio, accentuates the originality of this artist. Once you hear her voice, you don’t forget it. Jackie Peters’ debut is that sort of project. ![]() ![]()
