2020 Blending hip-hop, neo soul, jazz, and spoken word, the Nu Vizion Band emerges on the scene with 2020, an eleven-track project to make a noticeable debut. Consisting of five singers, five musicians, and a rapper, the eleven-person crew delivers an authentic sound that could be in a poetry club one minute or a block party the next. The musicians [G-Wiz (drums), Hosa (bass), Seed (congas), Cadell (keys), K-Luv (keys)] provide a solid backdrop for the vocalists of this tandem. K-Luv is the only full-time female keyboard player of the group. The five female vocalists all work well together as Tiff, Avonia, Clo, Von and Lyta trade vocals throughout the project while 2 Tru serves as the band’s emcee. This eclectic mix fuses soul, jazz, hip-hop, and go go flavas. Check out the socially relevant title track, as the group touches on issues ranging from the breakdown of the family to the war in Iraq. With 2 Tru serving as the front man, Nu Vizion Band reminds us all that Christ didn’t come for the well but for those who are sick. "Fire" is an uptempo jam featuring elements of that trademark DC 'go go' sound. This track speaks of the group’s love for hip-hop and love for God. "Conversation Piece" is a provocative poetic dialogue between the husband and wife pairing 2 Tru and Von. Playing the role of an unmarried couple, the duo poetically groove with each other and aptly chronicle the challenge found within a relationship between two unequally yoked parties. It’s thought provoking, powerful, and true to life. "Melody" is a bonafide hit which seems to perfectly blend the elements of this group into a groove that will definitely cause you to hit the repeat button. The catchy vamp has Nu Vizion Band expressing eternal thanks for the gift of music. This is a heartfelt debut from a group entrenched in the neo-soul movement.
