Who Is New Breed?

Ever wondered what the vocalists of New Breed do besides sing with Israel? Wel, here is a little information on this talented crew of vocalists.

Stacey Joseph —This soprano with the versatile, powerful yet soothing voice has released a CD full of songs of consecration properly titled The Prayer CD. Joseph also involved with "Kingdom Girls", which is a non-profit organization dedicated to building better lives for young girls.

New Breed Dakri Brown —He brings a great deal of energy and enthusiasm any time he's onstage with New Breed, but there is more to Dakri. He has also conducted choir workshops, led worship around the country and helped to bring the Lakewood Church Choir to the next level. Dakri Brown is now Associate Pastor of Northwood Assembly church in Houston, Texas.

Daniel Johnson —Johnson is the vocal director and arranger of New Breed. He was one of the Andrae Crouch Singers for several years and has sung backup on recordings for many artists: Joann Rosario, Marvin Sapp, Dorinda Clark-Cole, Karen Clark Sheard and many more. Johnson serves as the worship leader for Abundant Life Cathedral in Houston, Texas.

Danielle Stephens —She is no stranger to the industry, having sung with Fred Hammond and Radical for Christ for five years and New Breed for seven years. She was afforded the opportunity to go on tour with Darlene Zschech, Michael W. Smith and Don Moen. After over a decade of being in the industry, Danielle is releasing her debut project, Water Aquatic 8-Living Water produced by YPJ and others.

Lois Deplessis —This South African singer was a member of the popular South African group, Afro-Z.

Rodney Jordan —Rodney sang with Israel and New Breed on the New Season CD as well as the A Deeper Level release. He has a CD out titled, Abundance of Rain, and continues to serve under Derrick Thomas, Minister of Music at Cornerstone Church, Toledo (Michael Pitts is the senior pastor).

Jamil Whiting-Freeman —Recently married, Jamil has been a member of New Breed for five years and has also sung background on releases by Mary Alessi, Karen Clark Sheard and Marvin Sapp. Jamil serves as the worship leader at Northwood Assembly Church in Houston, Texas.

Ryan Edgar —He is the voice heard on "Friend of God" from the Alive in South Africa release. Residing in Dallas, Edgar, who also plays acoustic guitar, is presently working on a solo CD.

Leah Smith —Hailing from Philadelphia, Leah is the "baby" of the group, at the tender age of 19. Smith is a classical pianist and singer in the same vein as Alicia Keys.
