Sept 26, 2007 Three of the hardest words to say are "I am sorry." It seems as if so much cost comes with articulating the sentiment. However, the greatest challenge comes without saying it. Relationships are damaged, days are wasted and peace is lost. In the end, we regret that we were not in a moment of testing with the capability of being the Spirit of Christ and submitting ourselves to what pleases God. David, in his greatest moment of failure, decides that his love and need for God is far greater than the protection of his ego. In Psalms 51, David seeks forgiveness from God. He opens himself up to correction but more importantly to restoration. Do you know how important it is that you seek forgiveness from those in your life? Do you understand that God gets immeasurable glory and incredible worship from your act of obvious humility? My encouragement is that you assess the present state of your relationships and ask, "Is there any lingering offense in them?" If the answer is yes, become an extension of God's grace and seek forgiveness. You will be amazed how empowered you are in the moment of humility. God has so much for you and it begins with three simple words: "I AM SORRY!" Watch God honor you!
