WOW Gospel 2008

Following New Year celebrations, the Stellar Awards and Super Bowl Gospel, it's now time for the most anticipated compilation of EVERY year!

WOW Gospel 2008 features 30 of the year's top gospel artists and songs. 2007 was a banner year and this year's WOW Gospel reflects that reality.

The year's high-energy anthems "Looking for You" from Kirk Franklin and Fred Hammond's "This Is the Day" are just a taste of the multi-platinum, award winning menu on this two-disc set.

CDOther chart-busting vets Karen Clark Sheard, Donnie McClurkin, Cece Winans, Yolanda Adams and The New Life Community Choir featuring John P. Kee make their annual foray down the WOW red carpet along with quartet fixtures The Mighty Clouds of Joy.

Hezekiah Walker joins them with a remix of "Grateful" with relative newcomer to gospel, Dave Hollister.

No real rookies this year, but a bunch of what I guess we can call the "Tweens" in gospel. "Stronger" from Myron Butler's sophomore project and J. Moss' "I'm Not Perfect" featuring Anthony Hamilton and Mary Mary's "Yesterday" bring the contemporary flava. And in a relatively slow crossover year, Kelly Price and Patti LaBelle hold it down in that area.

Israel and New Breed's "With Long Life", and JJ Hairston and Youthful Praise's P&W anthem "Incredible God, Incredible Praise" will provide you with your praise and worship fix. And church choirs weigh in with the West Angeles Mass Choir and Bishop TD Jakes' Potter's House Mass.

Reigning gospel classics are represented by way of Richard Smallwood, the timeless Tramaine Hawkins and the legendary Clark Sisters.

What's left? Still too much to mention! Smokie Norful, Nicole C. Mullen, Tye Tribbett, Juanita Bynum and new-record holder Marvin Sapp just to name a few.

WOW Gospel 2008 is evidence that the shock and awe factor still exists in music and particularly in gospel. Year after year, this is the one to have - if only to then be encouraged to go get more of the BEST in gospel music!
