Joe Pace Presents -- Sunday Morning Service

Joe Pace Presents...
Sunday Morning Service

The prolific Joe Pace brings another hands-on project to the church.

The Colorado minister has a passion for bringing Gospel music straight into the hands of everyday worshippers in churches spanning the spectrum of denominations.

CDJoe Pace Presents - Sunday Morning Service from Integrity Gospel, is geared to churches across the country. Not only is it filled with accessable choir music, it's also structured to mirror a traditional church service, even down to sermonette segments from guest preachers.

Recorded live in Lexington, Kentucky at the Consolidated Baptist Church, the project has a natural flow to it, moving from song to song with ease and linked thematically and musically. Sure-footed choir and powerful soloists ensure that there's nary a weak spot from start to finish.

The band on this project is on fire. Not only is Bobby Sparks manning the keyboards along with Titus Robertson, there's also Jonathan Dubose Jr. on guitar and Simeon Baker on bass and Terry Baker on drums. Then those horns —a tight crew who give Vincent Ciesielski arrangements their own blaze.

Service starts with a brief but unforgettable call to worship, a choir chorus titled "Enter In". Then, moving to a strong, 8-track praise and worship set, the project opens up into a feast of new music mixed with fresh covers of popular favorites.

"We've Come To Praise Him" fuses its traditional base with and old-school funk foundation, and on "Our God Reigns", Pace writes a new melody that is powerful enough to remain for ages. Rick Founds' "Lord, I Lift Your Name On High" is reworked, and then melts into the quick-tempo'd call and response, "High And Lifted Up". Desmond Pringle writes "You Are Everthing To Me", and also guests with lead vocals on the song.

Following spoken word from Dr. Joseph L. Owens of Shiloh Baptist Church in Lexington, two communion selections are sung by the choir, including Robert Lowry's meditative "Nothing But The Blood".

By the time the Pastor Richard Gaines of Consolidated Baptist Church gives the invitation, and the choir has sung Pace's "Down By The Altar", leading into the benediction and recessional, you'll discover that while not expected to replace 'real church', Joe Pace Presents - Sunday Morning Service, sure does stir the soul.
