Nothing But The Hits

Nothing But The Hits

CDVerity Records has spent years investing in its major commodity —its artists.

Now is time for them to dig into the storehouse and put together some of the strongest and reflective collections from three of gospels all-time greatest hitmakers, John P. Kee, Fred Hammond and Hezekiah Walker. Nothing But The Hits is a series of chart-topping, foot-stomping and tear-jerking songs from these three giants. No matter what your preference, you can find a multitude of your favorites in this collection.

On Nothing But The Hits: The New Life Community Choir featuring John P. Kee, Kee writes and arranges all the songs featured. Beginning at 1989 with “The Anointing” highlighting the legacy of soprano vocals of Shelia Lakin through to present day “Oh How Wondrous” Kee’s growth is exhibited. Some other highlights feature the budding solo vocal of Isaac Carree from 1992’s “Wave It Away”, and the blaring praise band horns of “Thank You Lord”.

Nothing But The Hits: Hezekiah Walker and the Love Fellowship Choir pulls together hits such as "Clean Inside" from Live In Toronto and "How Much We Can Bear" from Shakin' The House...Live in LA. The NY pastor and his choir have long been in vanguard of the line between contemporary and traditional, and you can hear that on "Let's Dance" and "I Will Go In Jesus Name".

"Make It To That City" featuring Kervy Brown on lead remains unforgettable, and the too-seldom heard "This Is The Gospel of Jesus Christ" (penned by Donnie McClurkin) gets a reprise as well. Never released prior, a new remix ("BB Groove") of the choir's "99 1/2" is a highlight.

Nothing But The Hits: Fred Hammond pulls from some Fred and RFC mainstays like “No Weapon” and “Let the Praise Begin”, but also showcases some of his solo project favorites. Songs like “I’m Not Afraid” from I Am Persuaded and “Unconditional” from Deliverance.

There are also some current remixes from the more recent “Song of Strength” and “Show Yourself Strong”. The previously unreleased and very Commissioned-esque 'Founder’s Mix' of “Glory To Glory” is simply superb.

Making this project even more enticing is the personal notes on each song, penned by Hammond himself. The historical insight to the song’s history that he provides is fascinating.
